Current Residents and Graduates
Daniel Strohecker, MS, LAT, ATC, CES, is a board certified and licensed athletic trainer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and State of New Jersey. Dan serves as an athletic trainer in the office of Dr. Nicholas Avallone. Dan graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training in 2013 and received a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science with a Corrective Exercise Specialist concentration from California University of Pennsylvania in 2014. Prior to joining St. Luke’s, Dan spent one year working as a DME specialist in a busy orthopedic practice upon graduation. He also served as a staff athletic trainer at Savannah College of Art and Design for two years beginning in 2014 and head athletic trainer at University of South Carolina Beaufort for two years beginning in 2016. Dan completed a training camp internship with the New York Jets in 2012 and a full season internship with the Philadelphia Wings during the 2012-2013 season. He is a certified Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and currently serves as a resident within the St. Luke’s University Health Network Athletic Training Residency Program. Dan is an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoys spending time outdoors in his free time. He hopes to continue working as an athletic trainer in an orthopedic practice upon graduating from residency.
Christopher Servian, LAT, ATC, COF is a board certified and licensed athletic trainer in both the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He serves as Athletic Trainer for Warren Hills High school and Middle School. He joined St. Luke’s Athletic Training residency program in 2017. Before St. Luke’s Chris worked as a patient service representative for MedEast Post Op & Surgical providing bracing options for a wide variety of orthopedic ailments. He earned his orthotic fitter certification will with MedEast in 2016, and earned his Bachelor of Science Athletic Training Professional Practice through East Stroudsburg University in 2015.
Julia Plourde LAT, ATC, is a board certified and licensed athletic trainer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State of New Jersey, and State of Connecticut. Julia serves as an athletic trainer in the office of Dr. Nicholas Avallone and for the Warren Hills Regional School District. Julia graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training in 2015. Prior to joining St. Luke’s, Julia completed internships with the University Of Virginia Department Of Sports Medicine, and Trinity College’s athletic training staff. Julia has had experiences as an Emergency Medical Technician in North Carolina, and has also worked as a Pharmacy Technician in Vermont. Julia has completed a certificate pre-medical program, and is currently a Resident within the St. Luke’s University Athletic Training Residency Program. She will be attending Medical School next year in pursuit of becoming an Orthopedic Surgeon.
Kelly Hoots, MSAT, LAT, ATC is a board certified and licensed athletic trainer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Western Carolina University in 2014 and went on to complete her Masters in Athletic Training from Old Dominion University in 2016. In addition to being an Athletic Training Resident at St. Luke’s, Kelly is currently working on her Masters in Health Administration at Moravian College. Kelly provides Athletic Training services for Moravian College Club Sports and the Moravian College Health Center.
Thomas Oswald ATC, LAT. Tom is currently an Athletic Trainer for East Hills Middle School while assisting at Freedom High-School. In May of 2016, he graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelors in Science with a concentration of Athletic Training. Along with being a full time Athletic Trainer for St. Luke’s, Tom is also one the Sports Medicine Athletic Training Residents. Here, he also assists with one of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Doctors in the office seeing patients. Tom has gotten a wide variety of experience this year with sports from the youth level all the way up to the collegiate level.
Deryck Snyder, LAT, ATC is a board certified and licensed athletic trainer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the state of New Jersey. He is currently enrolled in St. Luke7rsquo;s Athletic Training residency program and serves as an Athletic Trainer for Phillipsburg High School. He has served as an Athletic Trainer for Lehigh Valley United as well as the Lehigh Valley Scholastic Hockey League. Deryck earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg University in 2015.
Brian Dorn, LAT, ATC, is a certified and licensed Athletic Trainer in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Under the Sports Medicine Department he works as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for Warren Hills Regional School district serving both the High School and Middle School student athletes. Prior to becoming a full time staff member in 2016, Brian initially began at St. Luke’s as an Athletic Training Resident in the 1st year of the Residency Program in 2015. Brian earned his Bachelor Degree in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg University in 2015.
Jaimie Juschitsch, LAT, ATC is a board certified and licensed athletic trainer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She serves as an Athletic Trainer for Saucon Valley School District. Before joining St. Luke’s Sports Medicine part time in 2015, Jaimie worked as a physical therapy technician at Laurie B. Samet Physical Therapy. Jaimie then completed her undergraduate education majoring in Athletic Training at East Stroudsburg University. After graduating she served as an Athletic Trainer at Stroudsburg Area School District. During her time with St. Luke’s Jaimie worked with various levels of athletics including youth sports, high school sports, collegiate sports, Parkette’s Gymnastics, and performing arts. Jaimie had also completed her Athletic Training Residency with St. Luke’s in July of 2016. Jaimie is also a certified instructor for the American Heart Association.
Allison Lothian, LAT, ATC is a board certified and licensed Athletic Trainer in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She joined the St. Luke’s Sports Medicine Program in August 2014. She began as a per diem Athletic Trainer, working at various settings and events including Notre Dame High School and Moravian College, PIAA District XI Championship events, youth football, ice hockey, Paul Short Cross Country Race, Lacrosse Fest, and much more. Allison also spent two years working as an Athletic Trainer/Camp Manager for Varsity, a leading Cheerleading and Dance company, working at high school and college cheer and dance camps across the country. Allison received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg University in 2014. She then continued her academic career, completing the Athletic Training Residency Program with St. Luke’s University Health Network in 2016 while working as the Head Athletic Trainer at East Hills Middle School. Allison is currently the Athletic Trainer for Freedom High School.
Kaitlyn Mohl, LAT, ATC joined St. Luke’s Sports Medicine in 2015 as a Resident Athletic Trainer. During the residency program, she served as an Athletic Trainer for Easton Area High School as well as completed coursework, worked on related research, and shadowed different medical professionals. Kaitlyn completed the Residency Program in 2016 and became a full time Athletic Trainer for Northern Lehigh School District, where she currently works with high school and middle school football, soccer, field hockey, cross country, basketball, wrestling, swimming, cheerleading, track, softball, and baseball. Kaitlyn is a 2015 graduate of East Stroudsburg University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. At ESU, she had the opportunity to work with many different levels of sport including various high schools, Muhlenberg College, Kutztown University, and the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks, a Professional Indoor Football team.
Joseph R. Roth, LAT, ATC is a board certified and licensed athletic trainer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania who joined the St. Luke’s Sports Medicine Team in August 2015. Joseph earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania in 2015. He has worked with a variety of sports including High School Football, Soccer, Cross Country, Tennis, Basketball, Wrestling, Baseball, and Softball. He currently serves as an Athletic Trainer at Notre Dame High School – Green Pond (PIAA District XI).
