E-Visits are offered by St. Luke’s University Health Network and St. Luke’s Physician Group (“St. Luke’s”) for your convenience and to save you time by providing care through MyChart. An E-Visit allows you to fill out a questionnaire with your symptoms, and have it reviewed by a St. Luke's provider. The provider will review your symptoms and send back a plan of care and prescriptions if appropriate. With an E-Visit, there is no in person or face-to-face visit and all discussions will occur through St. Luke's MyChart messaging.  Not all symptoms or conditions are appropriate for an E-Visit.

E-VISITS SHOULD BE USED ONLY FOR NON-URGENT MEDICAL CONDITIONS, AS IT MAY TAKE UP TO TWO (2) BUSINESS DAYS TO RECEIVE A RESPONSE.

Eligibility for E-Visits

To be eligible for an E-Visit, you must have an established relationship with a St. Luke's Provider and have seen them for a visit in the last twelve (12) months. In addition, if you have had a visit for the same problem within the last seven (7) days, you will not be eligible to use an e-visit, and should call your provider's office. You also must be physically located in the state in which your St. Luke’s Provider’s office is located when you submit your questionnaire. Patients with Medicaid insurance coverage are not eligible for E-Visits.

Should I Use E-Visits?

An E-Visit can replace a clinic appointment or Care Now visit. You won't need to wait for an appointment or leave the comfort of your home.

E-VISITS SHOULD BE USED ONLY FOR NON-URGENT MEDICAL CONDITIONS, AS IT MAY TAKE UP TO TWO (2) BUSINESS DAYS TO RECEIVE A RESPONSE.

Is The E-visit Covered By My Insurance?

Many, but not all insurance plans cover E-Visits. To find out if your health plan covers E-Visits, contact your health plan's Member Services department, and confirm whether it covers the “CPT codes 99421, 99422 or 99423”. You should also ask if you are responsible for any co-pay or deductible as part of an E-Visit.

If your insurance does not cover these billing codes, or denies St. Luke’s bill for the E-Visit for any reason, you may be personally responsible for a charge from St. Luke’s. The current price for a non-covered E-Visit is $30, though St. Luke’s reserves the right to change that amount at any time in the future.

What Do You Need Before You Start An E-Visit:

  • Your name, and common demographic information (address, phone number, etc.)
  • A valid credit card that can be charged if your E-Visit is not covered by your insurance, or you are responsible for a co-pay or deductible.
  • Your medical insurance plan information
  • A list of your current medications

What To Expect During An E-Visit:

After accepting these terms and conditions, you will complete the E-Visit Questionnaire. The Questionnaire is a list of questions about your symptoms, and a list of the medications you are currently taking. The Questionnaire should take 5-10 minutes to complete. You must complete all the questions on the Questionnaire. If you submit an incomplete Questionnaire, you will not be accepted for an E-Visit, and St. Luke’s may contact you for further information.

How Long Does It Take To Receive A Response To An E-Visit Request?

You can expect a response to your E-Visit request from St. Luke’s staff in 1-2 business days. You will also receive a response in your St. Luke's MyChart account. If you have not received a response after two (2) business, please call your St. Luke’s Provider's office.
