Our Program
This training program is driven by a growing patient population, a passion for teaching among our faculty, and a unique model of programmatic support from hospital leadership.
By the end of your training, you will be a competent, compassionate, and intellectually curious foot and ankle physical therapist. We are proud to offer exceptional resources to the next generation of clinicians and are excited to take the next steps with you on your path to becoming a Foot and Ankle Physical Therapy Fellow.
Our faculty share a common mission: the better we prepare and educate you, the stronger our ability to meet the physical therapy needs of the greater Lehigh Valley and retain highly skilled talent. From the very beginning, we will partner with you to help you develop the expertise, independence, and compassion essential to excellence in foot and ankle physical therapy.

The Foot and Ankle Physical Therapy Fellowship fosters an environment that facilitates and accelerates physical therapists to attain the highest level of care through knowledge and use of advanced evidence-based clinical skills and to ensure successful attainment of fellowship status. Improve your knowledge, skills, and clinical decision-making in an environment where we maximize clinical proficiency and psychomotor skills.

Our teaching faculty are dedicated to shaping the next generation of leaders in Foot and Ankle Physical Therapy, grounded in a commitment to community care. Through a nationally recognized sponsoring institution, we deliver exceptional care to the greater Lehigh Valley—fulfilling St. Luke’s University Health Network’s mission: “To provide patients and the community with the best care, and to advance medical practice and technologies through quality research and innovation.”
We accept up to 3 FAPT fellows per year.
Ensuring success of our fellows
The goals of the Foot and Ankle Physical Therapy Fellowship program are as follows:
- Improve your knowledge and skills: Fellows will effectively diagnose and treat patients with foot and ankle disorders, learn to prescribe, evaluate for, and modify custom orthotics, receive advanced knowledge on rehab implications following advanced imaging, and post-operative foot and ankle patients.
- Improve your clinical outcomes: Fellows will consistently develop strong therapeutic alliance with patients.
- Propel you to become a leader: Fellows will be ambassadors for for physical therapy through mentoring, teaching, marketing, and interprofessional collaboration across the continuum of care.
- Strengthen skills in business and professional development: Fellows will demonstrate humility and lifelong learning through continuing competence activities.
