It is the aim of the program to also further the science of plastic surgery through research. Our residency program trains residents in the art and science of plastic surgery through a comprehensive and well-rounded balance of structured education, research, and clinical experience. The ultimate goal is to produce excellent, ethical plastic surgeons capable of managing a wide spectrum of problems and surgeons who can function at a superior level of competence throughout their careers, become leaders in our field, and further the course of our specialty. Our philosophy is based on the concept that the study of this field is a lifelong project which is best begun by study of the core curriculum and a varied surgical responsibility. We hope to nurture scientific curiosity, inventiveness and the best academic, ethical and clinical growth of both our trainees and faculty.

The field of plastic surgery spans a broad spectrum of procedures, encompassing everything from reconstructive surgeries following trauma or cancer to aesthetic enhancements, and including specialized areas like hand and craniofacial surgery. This diversity makes for a dynamic and intellectually stimulating career, allowing surgeons to work with a wide range of patients and address a multitude of needs. Plastic surgeons are essential in restoring function and enhancing quality of life for individuals affected by burns, trauma, birth defects, or other medical conditions. Through surgical intervention, they can help patients rebuild their confidence and self-esteem, truly transforming lives.

- A new residency, from an institution with a rich history of excellence in medical education (510 current residents & fellows across 54 accredited programs)
- A high-volume center of surgical excellence, performing 1,200 cases annually in plastic surgery
