New St. Luke’s Medical Center in Lehighton

Public Invited to Open House on Saturday, June 24
St. Luke’s University Health Network is opening a state-of-the-art medical center in Lehighton to better serve the residents of Carbon County. The new St. Luke’s Health Center-Lehighton is a 21,000-square-foot facility located at 575 South 9th Street in Lehighton.
Residents will be able to receive the latest treatments and technologies for a number of medical specialties in this new location. The St. Luke’s Health Center will be home to Lehighton Medical Associates, St. Luke’s Spine and Pain Associates, Ob-Gyn Care Associates, St. Luke’s Orthopedic Care and St. Luke’s Cardiology Associates. The facility also will house Care Now, which provides walk-in urgent care, a laboratory and X-ray services.
Care Now will open to patients first on Monday, June 19.
The community is invited to an open house and to tour the facility from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 24. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. The open house will include free health screenings, refreshments, music, giveaways and activities for kids. Marlyn Kissner, vice president of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, will speak.
More than 30 people will be employed at the new facility including as doctors, nurses and nurse practitioners, physician assistants, radiology technicians, phlebotomists, medical assistants and physical therapists.
“We are opening the center in response to the growing demand for our services,” Bill Moyer, President of St. Luke’s Miners Campus, said. “Over the years, many doctors and patients in Carbon County have requested we increase access to our many great services. We devised the concept of the facility to meet that demand,” he said.
“Opening this state-of-the-art medical facility in the borough of Lehighton also supports St. Luke’s mission to make our excellent services more accessible throughout the region,” Moyer said.
