Training Programs Overview

$16.50 per hour

  • 6 weeks paid on the job training, no experience required
  • Work alongside anesthesia providers and OR staff
  • Prepare patients for surgery by applying monitoring equipment
  • Assist with anesthesia procedures and patient positioning
  • Acquire anesthesia equipment and supplies for surgical procedures and workroom
  • Apply to Anesthesia Technician positions on main SLUHN career site or by clicking “Apply now” to receive on the job training as part of orientation

$15.25 per hour

  • Must be currently enrolled in an EMT training class
  • The EMT Apprentice program coordinates with your EMT classroom learning
  • Includes hands-on experience, skill building and knowledge training
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Primarily located at St. Luke's Bethlehem with opportunities to shadow in other departments of interest
  • Opportunities for sign on bonus and tuition reimbursement upon completion of EMT program and required certifications with a full time 18-month work commitment

$16 per hour

  • Six weeks of clinical experience and classroom training
  • Includes hands-on training and shadowing opportunities
  • Located at 300+ sites throughout the Lehigh Valley
  • Day shift, weekdays only

$15.25 to $16.50 per hour

  • Four weeks of clinical experience and classroom training
  • Includes hands-on training and shadowing opportunities
  • New-hire cohorts begin each month
  • Located at Sacred Heart Hospital (Allentown)

$17.75 per hour

  • Eight months of technologist training
  • 80 hours of classroom training (day shift)
  • Three trainee shifts per week (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Located at Sacred Heart Hospital (Allentown)

$15.25 per hour

  • Five days of clinical experience and classroom training
  • Multi-week, individualized orientation (department-specific)**
  • Training offered at Sacred Heart Hospital
  • Select from open positions in any of the St. Luke’s hospitals
  • Full-time or Part-time; day, evening and overnight shifts available

$17.75 per hour

  • Three months of instruction
  • Nine months of clinical experience
  • Option for rotational travel to other St. Luke’s campuses
  • Located at Bethlehem Hospital

$16.50 per hour

  • 6 month paid training program
  • Combines classroom education and hands-on training
  • Learn the process that is used to clean, sterilize, prepare, process, store all medical and surgical supplies and equipment
  • Tuition to the program is waived with an 18-month (3120 hours) employee commitment contract

$23.25 per hour - Apprentice starting pay

  • Prepares the candidate to be capable of processing tissue samples for routine histologic techniques to be examined under a microscope by a pathologist
  • Learns histologic techniques including the following: fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining of human and animal tissue for evaluation
  • 10-month training program that includes online courses (tuition to the program is reimbursed, $7,450 value)
  • Preferred pre-requisitie: Associates in Science (AS) or Bachelor of Science (BS) or related science credits
  • Requires 2-year employee commitment after program completion

$ 23.25 per hour – Apprentice starting pay

  • Performs moderately to high complex testing on analytical equipment to aide in the diagnosis and treatment of patients
  • Performs quality control and maintenance procedures on equipment to ensure accuracy and precision of patient testing
  • Intensive 9–12 month on-the-job training program (didactic & clinical phases) that specializes in clinical laboratory science and microbiology
  • Required pre-requisite: Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Science (BS) in related field
  • Assigned faculty and mentorship
  • Requires a 2-year commitment St. Luke’s laboratory services after completion of program
  • Candidate is capable and approved to sit for the ASCP registry exam for the Microbiology, Medical Technologist (ASCP) test within 3 months after program completion AND/OR Medical Laboratory Scientist registry exam with 5 years of clinical laboratory experience.

$14.50 per hour – Paid training starting pay

  • Provides direct patient care by supporting patients with collecting blood and non-blood lab specimens as well as performing EKGs and registering patients
  • Serves as a critical role to enabling a doctor to screen for and diagnose a patient’s illness or disease, as well as monitor medications and wellness progress
  • Required pre-requisite: High school diploma
  • This is 6 week (40 hr / week) accelerated training program (lecture and clinical externship)
  • Program is tuition free with no application fee ($1,849 value)
  • Requires a 1-year commitment, as a phlebotomist for St. Luke’s lab, after completion of program
  • Must apply and be hired as a St. Luke’s phlebotomist prior to session start
