Managing Your Medications

Request refills 24/7—requesting refills is EASY and can be done by:

Refill requests can only be processed on prescriptions previously filled at St. Luke's HomeStar Pharmacy.

Please note:
Always request your prescription refills early enough to allow time to have it processed and shipped to you. Most 90-day supplies of medication can be requested up to 21 days in advance. Controlled medications and some brand-name medications may not be permitted to be filled 21 days in advance. Per SLUHN insurance regulations, refills cannot be filled automatically; you must request each refill. Do not wait until you are out or almost out of medication to request a refill.

Some medications require prior authorization (PA) from the insurance company. We can notify your provider of the need for a PA; however, we will not be informed if/when the PA is approved. Please contact the pharmacy to request the prescription to be processed if you receive notification of approval of the PA.

Most prescriptions will be processed through our system within 5 days. Please allow up to 2 weeks to receive your medications.

Delivery & Support

After payment is received, your prescription will be mailed to you at no additional cost via First Class US Mail. Please allow 2 weeks for processing and delivery of your medications. Shipping times may take longer due to delays in USPS. Maintaining a current mailing address and your personal email address will help avoid shipment delays. All prescriptions will be shipped in discreet plain plastic envelopes or boxes. Medications requiring cold storage are shipped Monday through Thursday to assure the integrity of the medication.

Once you receive your prescription, our registered pharmacists are available to answer any questions regarding your prescription. Call us during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 9:00am–6:00pm), and a pharmacist will answer any questions you may have.

Federal law and regulations prohibit the return of prescription medications for reuse or resale. We cannot issue credits or refunds for prescription medications that are returned to our pharmacy. If you received damaged medication, please contact us immediately.

We encourage you to fill your maintenance medications through St. Luke's Homestar Mail Order Pharmacy. If you are prescribed a medication that must be taken immediately, you may fill that prescription at your local St. Luke's Homestar Pharmacy or local independent or chain pharmacy per SLUHN Employee Health Plan guidelines.
