Integrated Interventional Radiology/Diagnostic Radiology Residency

Harnessing Excellence Through Knowledge & Skill
Our educational curriculum at St. Luke's IR Residency Program provides a rigorous and comprehensive learning experience, designed to shape our residents into expert clinicians, adept diagnosticians and capable interventionalists.

Shared Learning Experience
During the PGY2-PGY4 years, our IR residents share the same didactic lecture schedule as DR residents. This approach facilitates an integrated understanding of radiology, fostering collaboration and cross-discipline learning.

Advanced Interventional Radiology Training
In the PGY5-PGY6 years, the lecture schedule diverges to provide advanced training specific to IR. This bespoke curriculum deepens the residents' understanding and skills in this specialized field.

Multidisciplinary Conferences and Weekly Didactic Sessions
As part of our commitment to a well-rounded education, our residents participate in multidisciplinary conferences. In addition, they attend weekly hour-long didactic sessions and case-based conferences. These structured courses enable residents to retain knowledge, delve into the rationale and evidence behind various procedures and refine their diagnostic vascular imaging skills.

Case-Based Conferences: Preparing for the Future
Our case-based conferences are designed to mirror real-life scenarios. These interactive sessions pose a series of questions that encourage critical thinking and decision-making skills, preparing our residents to assume consultative roles as future interventionalists. This format not only promotes active learning but also serves as an effective preparation for the oral board exam.

Please note that this is a sample schedule and subject to changes based on specific program and resident needs.
