About the Cortlandt Whitehead Society
More than 150 years ago, Rev. Cortlandt Whitehead helped bring St. Luke’s to life. As a founding trustee, he led the fundraising effort that established the hospital in 1872—driven by the belief that every community deserves access to compassionate, high-quality care close to home.
Today, that same spirit endures through the Cortlandt Whitehead Society, a distinguished community of supporters whose generosity advances the mission of St. Luke’s.
What Is the Cortlandt Whitehead Society?
The Cortlandt Whitehead Society recognizes individuals who contribute $1,000 or more annually in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30) to St. Luke’s University Health System.
Membership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening health care in our region—ensuring that patients and families have access to leading-edge treatment, compassionate caregivers, and innovative programs for years to come.
Why Your Membership Matters
Philanthropy plays a vital role in shaping the future of health care at St. Luke’s. Contributions from Society members help to:
- Expand access to care across the communities we serve
- Invest in lifesaving medical technology and state-of-the-art facilities
- Educate and train the next generation of health care professionals
- Enhance programs and services that improve patient outcomes
Together, these efforts enable St. Luke’s to serve hundreds of thousands of patients each month with excellence and compassion.
Member Benefits
As a member of the Cortlandt Whitehead Society, you gain meaningful opportunities to stay connected and engaged with the impact of your giving:
