Chiropractic Residency Director Samuel Staula, DC, of St. Luke’s Chiropractic Care, and Paul Duffy, DC, Medical Director of Chiropractic Care for St. Luke’s.

Paul Duffy, DC, Medical Director of Chiropractic Care for St. Luke’s University Health Network, and Chiropractic Residency Director Samuel Staula, DC, of St. Luke’s Chiropractic Care, recently joined a distinguished panel discussion on Chiropractic Care in a Multidisciplinary Setting at the ACA Engage Conference in Washington.

Along with a chiropractor from Beth Israel Deaconess Plymouth, they presented “Leadership and Growth within Integrated Health Systems.”

This annual conference, hosted by the American Chiropractic Association, brings chiropractic physicians, students and industry leaders together for professional development and advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill.

Growing a Nationally Distinctive Residency Program

Also representing St. Luke’s, which is ranked #1 for quality, safety and patient experience by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, was first‑year chiropractic resident Adam Pembleton, DC, who attended the Engage Conference as part of St. Luke’s groundbreaking Chiropractic Residency program and presented an academic lecture as part of the conference program.

St. Luke’s launched its Chiropractic Residency program in 2025, making it one of only three such programs in the country. Now nearing the completion of its inaugural year, the program is already gaining national attention for its emphasis on collaborative, evidence‑informed care within a multidisciplinary health network.

“Our residency exceeded expectations in its first year," Dr. Duffy said, "We’re creating a model that immerses chiropractic clinicians in a truly integrated healthcare environment, and I expect the program to grow substantially as more residents recognize the value of learning within a system like St. Luke’s.”
