St. Luke’s Penn Foundation Opens Tamaqua Office with Ribbon Cutting

  St. Luke’s Penn Foundation is proud to announce the opening of its Tamaqua office, the newest outpatient location to serve the mental health needs of our communities in Schuylkill County.

St. Luke’s Penn Foundation has been actively working to improve access to mental health care as this has been a top area of need identified in our Community Health Needs Assessment over the last several years.

The new Tamaqua clinic offers counseling, medication management and other outpatient mental health services. It is staffed by seven clinicians, including a doctor, a therapist, an advanced practitioner, and rural psychiatric residents. The 3,000 square foot facility is open 8 am-4 pm weekdays.

This is the sixth St. Luke’s Penn Foundation Psychiatric Associates office, with others located in Allentown, Bethlehem Lehighton and Phillipsburg, NJ.

St. Luke’s has maintained a steadfast dedication to expanding mental health and addiction recovery services, an area that many hospital systems have not prioritized. Despite being an underfunded or unfunded health care service at many hospitals, St. Luke’s has made the investment to expand mental health services and improve access to care. Opening the new office in Tamaqua is a testament to that commitment.

The new Tamaqua office expands St. Luke’s Penn Foundation outpatient services to meet community needs. Access to care, especially in rural communities, is a challenge, which is why St. Luke's is proud to expand high quality compassionate care to this region. It is also an opportunity for St. Luke’s rural psychiatry residents to deliver counseling and other services at this location.
