May 31, 2019

St. Luke’s took home a number of honors in the 40th Annual Telly Awards. St. Luke’s University Health Network announced today that its “Wellness 101” social video series has won three awards: a Silver Award in the Instructional category and two Bronze Awards in the Comedy and Health & Wellness categories. Additionally, St. Luke’s won a Silver Award in the Promotional Video Craft – Fully Animated Piece category for “Round the Clock Care.

The Telly Awards honors excellence in video and television across all screens and is judged by leaders from video platforms, television, streaming networks, production companies and including Vice, Vimeo, Hearst Digital Media, BuzzFeed and A&E Networks.

“Wellness 101 is a practical but humorous video series to help people of all ages deal with various health and wellness moments,” says Ken Szydlow, vice president and chief marketing officer for St. Luke’s University Health Network. “We aim to provide health advice with a little injection of humor  and, so far, our audience is growing so we think the combination is working.”

“It’s a true honor to work with the St. Luke’s Marketing team,” says Jeff Hartney, Director and Host of Wellness 101 and Principal, The Production Pocketknife, LLC. “Together we’ve created a product that is not only informative but entertaining. It’s time to make health care fun...with Wellness 101.”

“St. Luke’s and The Production Pocketknife are pushing the boundaries for video and television innovation and creativity at at time when the industry is rapidly changing,” said Sabrina Dridje, Managing Director of the Telly Awards. “This award is a tribute to the talent and vision of its creators and a celebration of the diversity of work being made today for all screens.”

The animated video “Round The Clock Care at St. Luke’s” educates the viewer on where to access health care services, Urgi care vs emergency care vs physician office, through the antics of an accident-prone character.

“Paula Lamkins, our in-house animator, brought the message to life through her artistry, creativity and execution,” says Betsy Toole, Director of St. Luke’s Media Production Services. “With scriptwriting and icon development support from our in-house marketing group, we are very proud to have Paula as part of our team and to have the opportunity to showcase her talents.”

Today’s winner’s announcement caps a year-long celebration of the 40th Anniversary of The Telly Awards. Throughout 2018-2019, The Telly Awards celebrated four decades of honoring the video and television industry, whether through its inaugural international screening series or its online video interviews with industry experts.
