A native of the Pennsburg area, Karen Snyder has joined St. Luke’s University Health Network’s Pennsburg Family Practice as a nurse practitioner. “I am thrilled to be caring for patients in my own community,” she says.

Snyder had worked as a registered nurse for more than 25 years at St. Luke’s Hospital – Quakertown Campus. Much of her time was in the emergency room, where she cared for patients of all ages. About eight years ago, when Snyder had the opportunity to return to school for her bachelor’s in nursing, she grabbed it. “Once I started, I never stopped,” she says.
Snyder pursued her nurse practitioner certification because “I enjoy the one-on-one contact we have with our patients,” she says. Snyder earned a master’s in nursing from Moravian College in Bethlehem in May 2015 and a post master’s certificate as a family nurse practitioner from Drexel University in Philadelphia in September 2017.
She chose family practice because as an ER nurse she found she enjoyed helping patients of all ages. “I enjoy the different stages of people’s lives from beginning to seniors,” she says. “Every stage of life has its own unique challenges.”
Snyder, who joined the family practice in January, is anxious to develop relationships with her patients and their families and help them with their healthcare needs.
Snyder is accepting new patients and is seeing them along with Tina Myers, DO, and Alex Page, DO. Snyder works Monday through Friday and every third Saturday at the practice office, 2793 Geryville Pike, Suite 200, in Pennsburg.
