Northgate Urology Associates Joins St. Luke’s

Bethlehem, PA – St. Luke’s University Health Network and Joseph B. Lennert, MD, FACS, are pleased to announce that his practice, Northgate Urology Associates, has joined the Network as St. Luke’s Northgate Urology.

“Dr. Lennert has been a leader in furthering the field of urology at St. Luke’s for many years,” said Frank J. Tamarkin, MD, SLUHN section chief of urology. “In fact, he is section chief emeritus of the St. Luke’s Department of Urology, having served as the active section chief for many years. The physicians of St. Luke’s Center for Urology have a long history of working with Dr. Lennert to improve urology services and we look forward to working even more closely with him and his staff.”

“The entire team at Northgate Urology Associates welcome this closer affiliation with St. Luke’s University Health Network,” Dr. Lennert said. He will be joined by his physician assistant Gregory T. Pypiuk, PA-C, and other clinical and office staff members of his practice.

Dr. Lennert practices in all areas of urology, specializing in robotic laparoscopic surgery, and urologic cancers of the prostate, bladder, and kidneys. He was the first urologist in the area to perform the UroLift procedure for the treatment of an enlarged prostate. He performs advanced procedures to help patients with overactive bladders and incontinence. 

At St. Luke’s, Dr. Lennert is involved in the training program for residents. He has also been clinical assistant professor of urology at the St. Luke’s Temple Medical School, and has been a lecturer. He is a past president of the St. Luke’s University Health Network Medical Staff.

In the community, Dr. Lennert has served on the Alumni Board of both Moravian College and Temple University School of Medicine. 

A native of the Lehigh Valley, Dr. Lennert is a graduate of Liberty High School and Moravian College. He received his medical degree from Temple University Medical Center and completed residencies at Geisinger Medical Center.  In his free time, he enjoys golf and spending time with his family.
