St. Luke’s partners with the Kellyn Foundation and its Eat Real Food Market
June 21, 2016
This summer St. Luke’s is partnering with the Kellyn Foundation and their Eat Real Food Market to help make the healthy choice the easy choice. Each week, the Eat Real Food Market will travel to neighborhoods throughout Northampton County. This "Farm to Neighborhood" initiative includes buying from local farmers at prices that sustain the farm. It also includes a micro-food hub to process and aggregate local food and a Mobile Market to bring the fresh vegetables, fruits and healthy staples to food insecure neighborhoods. Staff from Kellyn and St. Luke's Community Health also plan to offer health education programs, including nutrition, healthy cooking, exercise, gardening and chronic disease screening at each site.
