St. Luke's Spine & Pain Associates - Whitehall
I am a pain management specialist with board certifications in pain medicine and anesthesiology. I believe that patients should have a comprehensive approach to their treatments, which includes not just diminishing pain, but also restoring function. As a physician, my goal is to improve a patient’s quality of life, but also to avoid doing any harm. Therefore, having open and honest discussions on expectations are important to help patients understand their diagnoses and treatment options.
My goal is to help improve the quality of life of my patients with individualized treatment modalities. I utilize a wide array of interventional procedures and pharmacologic agents to treat various pain conditions. These include but are not limited to chronic neck and back pain, cervical, thoracic and lumbar radiculopathies, sacroiliac joint pain, neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome, myofascial pain, post herpetic neuralgia, post laminectomy syndrome and joint pain.
As an anesthesiologist with additional pain medicine training, I have had extensive experience in fluoroscopic and ultrasound guided procedures and utilize a multimodal, individualized approach to help patients. I believe in multidisciplinary treatment plans with close coordination with physical and occupational therapists, as well as other specialists and primary care physicians.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, working on cars and computers and exercising. I grew up in New Jersey and did my medical training in New York City and Philadelphia. I enjoy visiting those cities from time to time.

“Dr Sun is a wonderful provider who has helped me reduce my pain. He listens to my needs and doesn't dismiss me. The staff is some of the best people I have encountered and recommend this practice to my friends and family. From the minute I check in and am in room, it is an easy experience. When I have questions, his MA responds quickly and is so lovely to talk too.”

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions from our
nationally recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
