My approach to care emphasizes open communication, shared decision-making and evidence-based medicine to help patients achieve their best possible outcomes.
As a nephrologist, I have a special interest in acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, pregnancy-induced hypertension, polycystic kidney disease and dialysis care. I strive to combine the latest medical knowledge with a personalized approach to help patients manage complex kidney conditions.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, going on bike rides and watching documentaries. I believe the best medicine begins with prevention, thoughtful listening and a strong partnership between physician and patient.

“Dr. Aown is one of the best doctors I have seen in years. I did not feel like I was just the next patient to see, ush pills, and move on to the next. He really took the time to explain and educate me. After we discussed a lot of things with my health concern, he then even took the time to recap the appointment, and his notes in MyChart are very detailed. He might have finally solved my blood pressure and heart issues, based on the function of the adrenal glands that sit on top of my kidneys. More so than a primary care physician and primary physician. An expert! A great doctor!”
