St. Luke's Mohs Micrographic Surgery - Easton
I consider clinical dermatology to be fun and rewarding. The privilege of talking and interacting with patients is by far the best part of the field.
I am a general dermatologist interested in a broad range of dermatology but with expertise in treatment of skin cancers including MOHS surgery. For more than 20 years, MOHS for me has been a gratifying surgical technique to remove skin cancer in crucial cosmetic areas with high likelihood of cure. My background first in internal medicine and then dermatology trigged an interest in how underlying disease can manifest in the skin. Since their introduction, I have prescribed biologics for treatment of psoriasis and related rheumatologic disease. Witnessing the response of these individuals to biologics has been a professional joy.
I’m pretty much a Pennsylvania person in that I grew up in York, attended Franklin & Marshall in Lancaster and received my MD and internal medicine certification from Hershey Penn State. My only foray out of state was at Brown University for my certification in dermatology.
Outside the office, my time is largely occupied by family with my wife, my mother, 3 kids and 7 grandkids. My family admittedly loves the Jersey shore (with sun protection, of course).

“My PCP encouraged me to consult with a dermatologist about a facial lesion (mole) that seems to have been increasing in size over the past several years. I put it off until Medicare coverage was established after losing previous employer coverage due to a layoff. Initial discussion with St. Luke's Scheduling suggested that the earliest consult might not be available until early in 2025. However, I was able to secure a September 2024 appointment with Blake Brooks at the newer St. Luke's Dermatology facility in Center Valley. On May 14th, I was contacted about an afternoon opening and was seen by Stephen Senft at that time. Outcome of my initial examination was that I am scheduled to attend the Excision Clinic in Easton on July 31st. We also considered treatment alternatives for a systemic fungal infection which presents in toenails and fingernails, ruling out internal prescriptions.I was quite pleased with the direct manner in which Dr. Senft conducted our initial examination/consultation.”

“Dr Senft has been my family's dermatoryogist for many many years, since my daughter was 6 or 7, which he detected issues with her immune system and sent us to CHOP for a visit with a specialist. They did find she does have a complement deficiency. So thankful for him. He treated her for acne, with good results. He also diagnosed her with alepecia and treated her many times with cortisone shots, and she never complained because she trusted him. He treated my mother, husband and myself with respect, considerate, informative and just a wonderful doctor, caring about his patients. I was very sad to hear he is retiring, but I have confidence in St Lukes Dermatology will have us set up with a great doctor. But I can tell you how much I will miss him, terribly. I hope to see him even in passing if he is there or filling in. He deserves his retirement, but I will miss our conversations. He was so good with my daughter and his daughter also was a teacher of children with disabilities. Just an all around wonderful doctor.”
