Pediatric SurgeryMy goal is to provide compassionate, high-quality pediatric surgical care. I understand that surgery in children can be very stressful – both for the patient and for the family. Therefore, I strive to alleviate some of this anxiety through open communication in a patient- and family-centric model of care delivery. I want the child and family to feel comfortable asking questions and to develop a sense of trust in our healthcare team.
I am a board-certified pediatric general surgeon who cares for children in all age groups – newborns to adolescents. As a pediatric surgeon, I treat a wide variety of surgical conditions focusing on abdominal, thoracic, and minimally invasive (laparoscopic and thoracoscopic) surgery. Some common diagnoses include, but are not limited to, all types of hernia, appendicitis, pyloric stenosis, soft tissue masses, and neonatal congenital anomalies. Part of my practice has also always included prenatal counseling for expectant parents of a baby with a congenital anomaly, in order to help them gain understanding of their child’s condition and create a plan of care with them and the OB/MFM. I recently completed my MBA and hope to use this to continue expanding the pediatric surgical program at St. Luke’s and contribute to the amazing growth of pediatric care within the network.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring restaurants, theater, and art museums and spending quality time with my family and friends. I am a strong proponent of developing a mindfulness practice in order to promote mind-body wellness.
