Arthritis | Arthroscopy | Bone & Joint (Orthopedics) | Knee & Joint Surgery | OrthopedicsI was fortunate to know at an early age that a career in medicine was my calling. An inherent desire to help people led me to a profession that allows me to do so in a very direct and meaningful way. Eliminating pain and restoring mobility with nonsurgical and surgical means has brought me great reward and joy, improving the quality of life in the patients I treat.
After attending medical school at the NYU School of Medicine, I completed my orthopedic surgery residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York. Following my residency, I served in the United States Air Force, treating active duty, retired individuals and their families. The early part of my career was dedicated primarily to sports medicine, focusing on arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder.
Currently, my practice centers around joint reconstruction and joint preservation. Using a variety of techniques, I aim to repair joint damage and preserve joint function, delaying and potentially preventing the progression of osteoarthritis. When patients experience pain and loss of function due to osteoarthritis of the hip and knee that is unresponsive to nonsurgical care, I guide my patients through a joint decision-making process to determine whether surgery is the best option. Most of my surgical practice now focuses on joint replacement surgery – partial and total knee replacement, total hip replacement and revision surgery. I embrace the latest technology, utilizing robotic-assisted techniques and minimally invasive strategies to help my patients recover from surgery as quickly and with as little pain as possible.
In my personal life, I am blessed with a wonderful family. My greatest joy is spending time with my wife, children and grandson.
