EnglishI am passionate about returning function to my patients and enabling them to return to the activities in life that they enjoy. My philosophy is to treat my patients as individuals and help them reach their treatment goals through operative and non-operative treatment strategies. This includes minimally invasive treatment options for the shoulder, elbow, and knee, from adolescents to patients in their later years. I am particularly interested in shoulder repair and reconstruction surgeries, ligament reconstruction, and cartilage preservation and restoration of the knee.
I am a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports and shoulder surgery. During my training, I had the pleasure of serving as a team surgeon for the University of Michigan, including the 2023 National Championship U of M Football team. I have published multiple manuscripts and book chapters on the treatment of knee and shoulder pathologies.
I was raised in New Jersey and attended Pennsylvania State University for my undergraduate education. I received my medical degree from Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School. Following medical school, I completed my residency training in orthopedic surgery at NYU Langone – Hospital for Joint Diseases, which is consistently ranked in the top five residency training programs in the country. I furthered my specialization in sports and shoulder surgery at The University of Michigan.
Beyond work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and child, following college football, playing golf and traveling.

“On Feb 14 , 2025, Dr. Doran performed surgery to repair my femur that had snapped in half. The surgery was a great success. During my hospitalization, Dr. Doran was excellent in keeping me and my husband aware of all that was occurring both pre and post-op. May 13 was a follow-up visit to ensure that there were no complications in my recovery. As in every discussion with Dr. Doran, he was very professional, attentive to our questions, and very compassionate. I should note that I am a new patient to St.Luke's because of Dr. Doran and his practice. I was with another hospital system for almost 40 years and over the last 5 years it has changed from caring for their employees and patients to caring more about billable hours.”

“I did not feel comfortable or at ease with this provider. From the moment he came in he had an unpleasant personality and I felt as if I were bothering him. He was very monotone and didn't treat me as an individual, just another "body" he had to see that day. He rattled off information in a robotic way and was not personable. I'm usually very comfortable asking questions and then follow up questions if I don't understand something. I did not feel that and wanted my appointment over as soon as possible. If I need a follow up appointment for my issue I want to see a different provider.”
