My duty in gastroenterology is to provide each patient with the highest quality, evidence-based care available. When seeing patients, my first step is understanding who they are as an individual and identifying their specific priorities and goals. I encourage each patient to take an active role in their health and believe education is essential for patients and their families. Through their personal involvement and education, patients acquire an exceptional understanding of their diagnoses.
I am a board-certified physician assistant in gastroenterology at St. Luke’s Monroe inpatient and outpatient settings. I completed my degree at DeSales University and have worked in gastroenterology for the past 15 years. I work alongside an amazing team of colleagues.
Outside work, I enjoy camping, hiking, reading and spending time with my family and pets. We live by “trusting our gut.”

She took into account everything that I had to say and explained everything well. She is a very kind and caring provider and really put me at ease with my illness and procedure. “Dr Olsommer and I had a very relaxed informative discussion I was a little nervous about my umbilical hernia before my visit and she gave me a lot of information and answered all my questions to put me at ease I found her to be extremely knowledgeable in her field I left her office calmer and with a plan going forward she presented me with I would not hesitate to see her again if my condition changes”
