Plastic SurgeryMy name is John Trangucci, but I’m also called Dr. Gucci, and I am a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at St. Luke’s University Health Network. I perform both reconstructive and cosmetic procedures of the face and body. As a plastic surgeon, I strive not only to provide my patients with the latest advances in plastic surgery but also to bring compassionate and personalized care to all. Making you comfortable and informed throughout your journey is, and always will be, my top priority.
I was born and raised in New Rochelle, NY. I attended Concordia College in Bronxville, New York, on a baseball scholarship. Upon completing my undergraduate education, I attended medical school at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences. I then completed rigorous training in general surgery for five years at UPMC Harrisburg. I was fortunate enough to spend time at the premier trauma center in the country, the Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, where I learned directly under Thomas Scalea, MD.
Upon completing my training, I obtained my board certification in general surgery. I then began a coveted plastic surgery residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. During this three-year program, I gained experience and skills in reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery, which included training at St. Luke’s University Health and spending time at various locations, such as Fox Chase Cancer Center, Temple University Hospital, Hershey Medical Center and several private cosmetic practices in the greater Philadelphia area.
Throughout my eight years of training, I have presented at regional and national conferences and have been published in peer-reviewed journals in both general and plastic surgery.
When not working, I enjoy nothing more than spending time with my wife and son. When it comes to hobbies, you’ll likely find me either at Steel Stacks’ “Cars and Coffee” or a sporting event.
