EnglishCaring for women through the unique health experiences that only women face is my calling. I have spent most of my professional career in women’s health. Education and shared decision making are key in my approach to care. Taking the time to explain what is going on in their bodies and involving patients in choosing a plan of care goes a long way. This increases patients’ satisfaction and their buy-in to the plan that will ultimately improve their health.
I earned a master’s of science in nursing focusing on women’s health from the University of Cincinnati and I am board certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. I joined St Luke’s University Health Network in October 2020.
As a nurse practitioner, my license does allow me to perform physical assessments, order labs and diagnostic studies, make a diagnosis and prescribe the appropriate medications, therapies and treatments for that diagnosis. I want my patients to understand what a nurse practitioner is and feel comfortable putting their trust and health in my hands. We are trained to treat the whole patient not just the disease or disorder. My patients can rest assured that If a higher level of care is needed, I will collaborate with my physician as needed.
I also rely heavily on research and evidence-based medicine to guide my decision making as I care for women. I can perform a variety of in-office procedures.
Outside of work I have been married to the same man for over 20 years and I am a mother myself to two teenage/almost adult kids traversing through the highs/lows of high school and college. On the weekend you will likely find me out enjoying local food/drink or relaxing around a fire that my husband made while also enjoying times with friends and family. I also like to be crafty and creative, and I am often trying new DIY décor or crocheting something.
