My goal is to treat each patient based on their unique needs and tailor treatment options to meet their personal goals. I have experience treating athletes from weekend warriors to elite athletes at all levels. Regardless of your activity level, my goal is to get you back to the activities you enjoy.
I am a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon focusing on sports medicine and knee and shoulder arthroscopic surgery. I have expertise in treating:
- Knee injuries, such as:
- Meniscus tears
- Ligament injuries, including ACL tears
- Articular cartilage injuries
- Patella instability
- Shoulder injuries, such as:
- Shoulder instability
- Labral tears
- Rotator cuff tears.
I employ minimally invasive techniques whenever possible to treat these conditions. I believe in using evidence-based practices to guide treatment options and have contributed to the literature with numerous peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters.
I received a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware and a doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with research focusing on bioengineering and nanotechnology. After earning a medical degree from Stanford University, I completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania and a fellowship in sports medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. During my fellowship, I was an assistant team physician for the Washington University athletes, as well as the St. Louis Blues, St. Louis Battlehawks and the St. Louis City soccer team. I am a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
Outside work, I enjoy working out and spending time with my wife and two children.

Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do
not necessarily reflect the views of St. Luke’s University Health Network.
