Vascular Surgery | Surgery (General Surgery)

I believe that good communication is the foundation of excellent care. My priority is to listen to you, understand your goals and concerns and work together to support your vascular health. I practice evidence-based medicine and focus on clear, easy-to-understand education, so every patient – whether they speak English or Spanish – can feel confident making decisions about their care. My philosophy is that “true vascular health” starts with identifying risks early and encouraging healthy habits to prevent disease from progressing. If surgery is needed, I use the most advanced techniques to help preserve and restore your quality of life.

As a board-certified vascular surgeon at St. Luke’s University Health Network, I specialize in treating complex circulatory conditions. This includes saving limbs at risk, preventing strokes with both traditional and minimally invasive carotid procedures, and providing comprehensive dialysis access care. I also treat aortic aneurysms using both open and endovascular approaches and offer expert care for wounds and vein problems.

My medical journey began in the Dominican Republic, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU). I completed my general surgery training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)/Hackensack University Medical Center. I am proud to be a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the Society for Vascular Surgery (FSVS).

Previously, I served as Medical Director of the Vascular Lab and held leadership roles at Grand View Health, where I led efforts to improve surgical safety and quality outcomes. In 2024, I was honored to be named one of America’s Best Vascular Surgeons by Newsweek /Statista.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring culinary interests, and playing chess and guitar. I am also active in the community, providing vascular health education. I believe that keeping a balanced life helps me bring my best energy and focus to every patient I care for.

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions from our nationally recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.

Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score.

The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of St. Luke's University Health Network.
