“I am not targeting this office. This happened to some offices throughout St. Luke's system. Some offices do not have a cart for video remote interpreting(VRI). Some offices already have it. I used it to communicate with my doctors. When some offices did not have it, I used the Live Transcribe app to transcribe what a doctor, nurse, or receptionist is saying. I wrote down on paper to say whatI wanted to say. Both ways worked for me; I am adaptive to each way. However, you should know that every office or building should have a VRI cart ready for any patients who need it. This will improve the consistency of reasonable accommodation for the deaf and hard-of-hearing patients.”
