I have been involved in residency, advanced practitioner and medical school education since joining St Luke’s and I am an adjunct associate clinical professor of medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. I have participated in multiple quality improvement and IT projects. My clinical interests include medical education and process improvement. Pulmonary interests include interstitial lung disease (ILD) and lung cancer.
I earned my medical degree at New York Medical College, completed a residency at Yale New Haven Hospital and joined St. Luke’s in 2006 from fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Yale University School of Medicine.
I live in Bethlehem with my wife and two children I am very proud of my children’s accomplishments in academics, sports and music. In my free time, I enjoy attending local sporting events, biking on local trails and travel. I volunteer on the Board of Health for the City of Bethlehem, provide care at the Bethlehem tuberculosis clinic and serve on the St. Anne’s Church Parish Council.

“I have the utmost praise and respect for Dr. Alia and his assistants. I chose him after an on line search. Five years ago, I was told that the nodule in my lung was cancer and that it had to be removed. That was with Another network Over the past 5 years, I went to Einstein to have CT scans to monitor the nodule. The scans showed no growth or change. My Primary physician asked that I do one more CT scan. That is when I decided to find someone at St. Lukes. Dr. Alia had all of my scans and information prior to my appointment. He was so thorough. He showed me my initial scan and told me that he would never tell someone that they had cancer without doing a biopsy first. He was patient and caring. We scheduled the scan before I left the office. I am happy to say that my scan is good. I do not have cancer. I will be looking to have more St. Lukes' Doctors on my team in the future. Thank you for the excellent care.”

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions from our
nationally recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.

The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do
not necessarily reflect the views of St. Luke’s University Health Network.
“Dr. Alia was easy to talk to. He genuinely cared about how my recent health care at another network negatively effected me and assured me that he would be following the management of my post op complications going forward.”
