English|SpanishI have a passion for making a difference in my patients’ lives and like to think of each one of them as if they were a family member of my own. Since birth, I’ve ALWAYS wanted to be in the medical field.
I attended Hunter College Bellevue School of Nursing and graduated in 1990. After working in the ICUs at New York University Medical Center, I felt a need to enhance my education. I obtained my Master’s from Columbia University in 1998. I am a board certified family nurse practitioner and have worked in the women’s health field for over 13 years.
I am fluent in Spanish and have Ecuadorian parents that immigrated to this amazing country where I was able to flourish and advance myself beyond imagination.
I have three children who encompass my non-professional activities. When I am not participating in something with them, I spend my time doing Zumba, running or going to the gym.

“This was such a positive experience. I have avoided going to OBGYN appointments (last exam 5+ years ago, and scheduled one 2 years ago and arrived to be told that's not what my appointment was for) because my past experiences were not good. Abby had been recommended to me by several people and I finally made the appointment. I am so glad I did. She is caring and kind, the procedure was quick (so quick I wondered what took so long in the past). She is professional. I can't say enough good things about my experience.”

“This is the first GYN office that detected a problem for which I had not known from previous doctors. Dr. Copeland was the first to make the discovery and since then I have been treated by Abby who has been more than wonderful. I expressed my concern about this issue.
