I believe that every patient deserves to have every question that they have answered, no matter how much time this takes. If I were navigating a new cancer diagnosis for myself or a family member, I would hope that a physician would give me this kind of time. I pride myself on the relationships that I have with my patients and the bond that we form.
I am a dual board-certified thoracic surgeon and general surgeon, having trained at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and University of Virginia. I specialize in minimally invasive thoracic surgery, both thoracoscopic and robotic, focusing specifically on diseases of the lung, chest and esophagus. I have a special interest in treating cancers of the lungs and esophagus. Additionally, I perform surgical and endoscopic procedures in patients with swallowing disorders involving the esophagus and the stomach.
In addition to my primary role as a surgeon, I see myself as an educator. Training the next generation of surgeons is essential to the continued success in our field. This is why I am the assistant program director of the St. Luke’s general surgery residency program.
Outside of the hospital, I am an avid runner and I love to travel. The best part of my life though is spending time with my husband, Andrew Brown, who is also a surgeon at St Luke’s, and our son, who just joined our family in January, 2020. I am also a Philadelphia native who is filled with hometown pride.

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions from our
nationally recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do
not necessarily reflect the views of St. Luke’s University Health Network.
“This "visit" was a phone call to give me the results of a CT, and comprised an annual occurrence. However, Dr. Harrison has always treated me with respect, both in person and over the phone, and has always addressed any concern or question.”
