St. Luke’s School of Sterile Processing is a six-month paid training program offering immediate access to employee benefits. Individuals hired into the program spend 40 hours a week in a dual education program. Two days a week are spent in a classroom setting and three days a week are dedicated to hands-on training.
Students who have successfully completed the program will be prepared and can sit for an International certification exam in order to become a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST). The exam can be taken through either Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or a national certification through the Certified Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD). Certification is required by Pennsylvania law within 18 months of hire. Upon attaining Certification the employee will be eligible for an immediate pay increase.

You are eligible to apply as long as you have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Tuition to the program is waived with an 18-month employee commitment contract. Our current class is full. Applications will reopen in June 2023 for enrollment in our January 2024 class.
