New Medical Director for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine

St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN) is pleased to announce Diedra E. McCafferty, DO has been named Network Medical Director of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine.  Dr. McCafferty is a board-certified family medicine physician who has been specializing in wound management and hyperbaric medicine since 2016.

Dr. McCafferty received her undergraduate degree at the University of Scranton and graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then completed a family medicine residency at St. Vincent’s Family Medicine Residency in Jacksonville, Florida before returning to Pennsylvania.  Dr. McCafferty was the Medical Director of the Wound Center at Nazareth Hospital in Northeast Philadelphia and subsequently worked for Geisinger Health System in Scranton prior to joining St. Luke’s in 2017.

“I am excited to expand my role at St. Luke’s,” says Dr. McCafferty.  “Our physicians and nurses are committed to providing the best wound care in all of the communities we serve and I look forward to enhancing our already strong program.”

As Network Medical Director, Dr. McCafferty oversees St. Luke’s Wound Management Centers in Quakertown, Bethlehem, Tamaqua, Lehighton, Stroudsburg and Allentown, as well as in  Phillipsburg, New Jersey.

Dr. McCafferty and her husband William R. McCafferty, DO, who is also employed by St. Luke’s, live in the Lehigh Valley.  When not working, they enjoy spending time with their four children.
