COVID 19 Patients Extubated from Ventilators
April 05, 2020
St. Luke’s University Health Network is caring for patients with COVID-19 across the Network.
Our critical care, pulmonary and infectious disease physicians, partnering with incredibly dedicated nurses and other staff, are delivering the best care to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit.
During the past week, nine patients came off ventilators and are breathing on their own again.
“These hard-fought positive outcomes, the result of extraordinary work by caregivers with expertise in advanced, live-saving technology, are a glimmer of hope in the fight against this terrible virus,” said Dr. Mark Lischner, a critical care physician who is part of the team leading the Network’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
