St. Luke's Miners Campus Awards Academic Scholarships to High School Students

Fourteen graduating seniors honored by Board of Trustees and Medical Staff

Coaldale, PA (5/16/2017) – Board of Trustees Chairperson , Maureen Donovan, James D. Bohri, Radiologist and President of the Medical Staff; and Mark Kender, MD, Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees announced the recipients of the St. Luke’s Miners Hospital Board of Trustees Scholarship and the St. Luke’s Miners Campus Medical Staff Scholarship at a ceremony held at the St. Luke’s Miners Campus, 360 West Ruddle Street, Coaldale, PA.

The Board of Trustees Scholarship and the Medical Staff Scholarship are each $1,000 and presented to a graduating senior from seven area high schools who met the criteria of the award. The criteria required each recipient to be in the top 25% of his/her graduating class and be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited four year college or university in the health care field.

“To be able to provide these scholarships to these students is an honor for us at St. Luke’s,” said Donovan. “We hope that the young men and women receiving the awards will return to our area after completing their training to provide health care services to the community in which they were raised.”
