St. Luke’s Noted for ‘Great Heart Program’

Bethlehem, PA (9/29/2016) – St. Luke’s University Health Network recently was named to the 2016 edition of “100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Heart Programs.”

According to the list’s author, Becker’s Hospital Review, the hospitals named lead the nation in cardiovascular health care. The publication examines reputable ranking and award agencies including Truven Health Analytics and U.S. News and World Report rankings for cardiology and heart surgery and others.

St. Luke’s, which includes a Heart Rhythm Center and an accredited Chest Pain Center, has earned a three-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and is designated as a Blue Distinction Center+ for Cardiac Care by Blue Cross Blue Shield.

The list is not a ranking, and hospitals cannot pay to be included, Becker’s said.
