Joe Tocci, founder of Talon, says the move to Allentown from the club’s current facility in Lehigh Township offers his wrestlers, most of whom are in sixth- through 12th grades, a premier facility, top-notch coaching and the opportunity to work with the center’s certified, specialized training staff.
“A big advantage for the wrestlers is that a Talon membership will include a membership to the St. Luke’s Performance Center, allowing them to work out at the St. Luke’s fitness facility closest to their home, whether it be Allentown, Bethlehem or Easton,” Tocci said.
Once the club transitions to the Allentown facility, St. Luke’s new community wrestling liaison, Nestor Taffur, will coach club wrestlers, in addition to current Lehigh University wrestlers and coaches serving as guest instructors for the club.
“We want to offer the best wrestling experience with the best quality coaches, and our move to Allentown allows that to happen,” Tocci said. “We also want our wrestlers to grow as student-athletes and as individuals. Nestor’s expertise in a lot of different areas will be great for our kids. It will be a unique environment that won’t be found anywhere else.”
