James G. Gallagher, MD and Luis A. Tejada, MD, of Advanced Cardiac Care, LLC in Bethlehem have joined St. Luke’s Cardiology Associates (SLCA). Patients are now being seen at two of existing SLCA locations in Bethlehem and Quakertown.

With the addition of Advanced Cardiac Care physicians, SLCA now has 31 cardiologists serving patients at six hospital campuses and 11 locations. Since the beginning of the 2014-2015 fiscal year, SLCA added four new physicians – David Allen, DO, Sudip Nanda, MD, Amit Prasad, MD, and Steven Stevens, MD, making this the largest growth seen for the practice.

Dr. Gallagher and Tejada spent much of their long, distinguished careers working closely with St. Luke’s and bring extensive medical experience to the team.

Dr. Gallagher received his medical degree from the University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency from Stony Brook University Hospital, and his cardiology fellowship at Brown University School of Medicine. Dr. Gallagher also completed an interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology fellowship from Brown University School of Medicine. He serves on several medical committees at the hospital.

Dr. Tejada received his medical degree from Colombian School of Medicine in Bogata, Colombia. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Berkshire Medical Center and his cardiology fellowship at Tuffs University School of Medicine, Baystate Medical Center. He currently serves as the primary investigator for the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) and TABY clinical trials. These trials are dedicated to advancing the knowledge and care of patients suffering from cardiovascular disease.
