Cardiology | Cardiovascular Disease | Heart Failure | Pulmonary Hypertension"Without our health, we have nothing." A favorite mantra of my very wise (and very instructive) grandmother, I was taught to appreciate the value of good health at a young age. Today, this translates to my medical practice where the well-being of my patients is paramount; every day I strive to achieve the best outcomes possible. I take a pragmatic and tailored approach with each of my patients' conditions, using the most current evidence-based medicine, to foster collaborative, accurate and informed treatment plans.
I am an advanced heart failure and cardiac transplant trained physician with board certifications in internal medicine, general cardiology, advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation, as well as adult echocardiography. I treat cardiovascular problems from general complaints to complex diseases, including systolic and diastolic heart failure, valvular disease, arrhythmias, coronary disease, pulmonary hypertension, and more. My patients range from previously healthy athletes who experience cardiac symptoms to those in cardiogenic shock who may require emergent circulatory support pumps and heart transplant. At St. Luke's University Health Network, I appreciate working with a skilled and collegial team of medical practitioners, as well as trainees including students, residents and fellows. Participating in the education of future health care providers is an honor and a privilege and helps create a stimulating academic environment at St. Luke's.
Outside of work I enjoy family time, discovering new restaurants and live music - I am a lifelong guitar player and always enjoy getting out to shows.

“There was concern about my first EKG done at a different location and I needed to have another one done by a cardiologist so that I could have my surgery. They got me in very quickly, my cardiologist was very kind and explain things clearly. There were no problems and I had my surgery on time.”

“No bad experience yet with Evan Joye”

“When I scheduled with a cardiologist,Evan Joye it wasn't clear if I needed one, I had some concerning comments from the attending Dr re my ecg following chest pain. I tried to get in sooner but it took about 3 weeks, the attending Dr did not suggest a need for more urgent care, I had an echo and stress test scheduled and I saw Dr Joye 4 days following the stress test. The scheduler was responsive to my request to see a cardiologist asap as and Dr Joye was assigned. At the time I did not know he is a transplant surgeon. Regardless he spent sufficient time to understand what issues I experienced and clearly explained the test results. And very politely advised finding a general cardiologist if I had future issues. He also personally reviewed the results of my ecg he had done at that appointment rather than leave to the nurse or have me await the my chart summary. I was very impressed with Dr Joye.”
