William Markson, MD; Todd Banning, DO; Ronald Stein, MD; and Lillian Gattone, PA-C of Cardiology Associates and Diagnostic Center, LLC have joined St. Luke’s Cardiology Associates and the St. Luke’s Heart & Vascular Center. The group joined St. Luke’s as a result of the recent merger with Blue Mountain Health System and will continue to see patients at their current locations without disruption and with the same level of care.

“St. Luke’s and the former Blue Mountain Health System hospitals have begun to deliver on the promise of our recently completed merger,” says Raymond Durkin, MD, chairman of cardiovascular medicine, St. Luke’s University Health Network. “Dr. Markson, Dr. Banning, Dr. Stein and Lillian Gattone, PA-C have long provided top level cardiac care to the local community and we’re fortunate to add these skilled, experienced, compassionate practitioners to our cardiology team.”

“Our doctors and staff have been providing the highest level of care for cardiovascular patients of Carbon and Schuylkill counties for decades,” says William Markson, MD. “We’re excited to offer the same exemplary care that our patients have come to know and expect as we look to the future as part of St. Luke’s University Health Network. We now have the depth of resources available through St. Luke’s, with a shared commitment to keeping care local and to always treating patients as family and friends.”

Dr. Markson earned his MD from the University of Michigan School of Medicine, completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Montefiore Hospital Medical Center and completed a fellowship in cardiology at the North Shore University Hospital, Cornell University Medical College.

Dr. Banning earned his DO from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Suburban General Hospital and completed a fellowship in cardiology at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center.

Dr. Stein earned his MD from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, and completed an internship in internal medicine, a residency and a cardiology fellowship at the Long Island College Hospital.

Lillian Gattone, PA-C, holds a Masters in Health Science: Physician Assistant from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania.  She has been a Physician Assistant in Cardiology for more than 12 years.

“By joining forces with this team of doctors, people in the region who need more advanced cardiac care will now benefit from the surgical and interventional care that St. Luke's has to offer,” concludes Dr. Durkin.
