St. Luke's Center for Urology - Allentown
I have been practicing urology in the Lehigh Valley for about 37 years, gaining extensive experience in the treatment of general urologic diseases, including kidney stones, urologic cancers, prostate diseases, incontinence and bladder dysfunction. My specialized interest is in the treatment of male sexual dysfunction and vasectomy. I am the region’s most experienced physician in penile implant (prosthesis) surgery.
After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, I attended graduate school for immunology at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA. I trained in general surgery at North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset, NY, an affiliate of Cornell University Medical College, and completed a residency in urology at Temple University Hospital, Medical College of Pennsylvania and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, Philadelphia, PA. I became board certified by the American Board of Urology in 1987.
I have served on the Board of Trustees of the Lehigh County Medical Society and Lehigh Chapter of the American Cancer Society. I am a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Urologic Association.
I live in Bethlehem with my wife, Janet. I am an avid pilot and have been flying for more than 20 years, holding both single and multiengine instrument ratings.

“I can't say enough about the care that I have received from Dr. Lieberman for all my issues that I've had over the years, He talked me off the ledge when I first got diagnosed with prostate cancer, telling me that everything would be Okay. I'm doing very well due to his care.”

“Dr. Lieberman is an outstanding doctor who has a fantastic bedside manner. I understand, as should St. Luke's, that he may have days where he must give patients some extremely upsetting news regarding cancer which may take more time for their appointment than allotted by St. Luke's. Please be advised that I have no problem waiting for Dr. Lieberman and completely understand if he is running late for my appointment time. I would expect, and know I would receive, the same generous time if I were that patient receiving such bad news. In fact, there is no one I would rather have to receive that information from than Dr. Lieberman. He is a brilliant doctor that really cares about each and every one of his patients. It would be nice if more of today's doctors were like him rather than making patients feel like a number because they are having their feet held to the fire to get them in and out of their office so St. Luke's can make more money. I only hope that Dr. Lieberman continues to practice for quite a few more years and does not feel like he is being forced out because of length of appointments.”

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions from our
nationally recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do
not necessarily reflect the views of St. Luke’s University Health Network.
“As is always the case, Dr. Lieberman displayed and demonstrated his knowledge and physical skill with the procedure he had prescribed for me. My cystoscopy(my first) was uneventful and not at all unpleasant, and he explained the outcome in an understandable way.”
