St. Luke's Family Medicine - Anderson
I feel strongly that patients receive the best care when they have a primary care physician who knows them well. I strive to get to know my patients so that I can provide the type of care that meets their needs the best. I want patients to feel comfortable coming to see me and feel open in talking to me about concerns that they may have. When I was growing up, I was always nervous about going to doctors’ visits and my goal is to be sure that my patients don’t feel that way.
I grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and went to Drexel University School of Medicine and after that, completed my family medicine residency at Abington Hospital. My husband is from the Lehigh Valley and after I finished my residency in 2006, we moved back to the Lehigh Valley and I started working in Brodheadsville (Pocono Area) and then Macungie before joining the team at St. Luke’s Family Medicine – Anderson.
I enjoy providing care for all ages, from newborns to senior citizens. I also enjoy teaching residents and medical students and am excited that St. Luke’s shares my passion for educating the next generation of clinicians.
The most important thing that patients can do is talk to their doctor! Let me know what you are worried about, or what you are feeling. If there is something on your mind that concerns you, it’s ok to ask about it. Let me help!
I love living in the Lehigh Valley and enjoying all that it has to offer. My family and I can often be found cheering on the Iron Pigs at Coca-Cola Park and we are sure to catch some Phantoms games as well. My husband is a Penn State grad and we are all big Penn State football fans at my house. My kids are 8 and 11, so I spend most of my time out of work cheering for my son’s baseball and basketball teams, enjoying my daughter’s dance recitals and helping her with her Girl Scout cookie sales. As you might imagine, I am an excellent driver of the proverbial “Mom Taxi.”

“What an amazing experience to find a primary care physician that listens and really cares. I felt Dr. Block was extremely thorough and knowledgable. She also saw me as a person and not just a number. She even was so kind to my son who had to come to the appointment with me, while still staying extremely focused and professional. I am so very excited to be transferring my care to her after not feeling like my previous primary care physician was a match for me. It means a lot to me to have a physician I can trust and I will be returning to her for however long she is with the practice.”

“Dr. Block is the best physician I've ever had, and I'm 72 years old now. Had she been my physician sooner in life, I'd probably live until 100. She is professional, thorough, and explains all the medical stuff in an easily understandable way. I think she is worthy of a PCRAFT award. My wife previously worked at St. Luke's, but is fully retired now, and she explained the PCRAFT award to me when one of her team members received it. Dr. Block is a true gem. She should be somehow rewarded for the outstanding job she does with her patients. We've recommended her to several of our friends, and they all love her. She is an incredible ambassador for healthcare in general, and for St. Luke's in particular. Put her up on a billboard, give her a raise, and a PCRAFT Award !!!”

“Dr Blpck is the most thorough and caring doctor I have ever encountered. We discussed my bloodwork and the lifestyle changes I have made and how this is positively affecting my A1c, cholesterol and blood pressure. We set some weight goals. Dr Block listens thoughtfully and collaborates with me as a patient. I cannot say enough great things about the care I receive from Dr Block.”

“Dr. Block is the best provider that I could ever ask for. She is kind, sympathetic and I can just see the wheels turning when she is determining the best course of care for me. Dr. Block is smart and so personable ! She makes me want to open up and share. I love her! The office staff was exceptional, particularly Angelina the LPN and Kelly, her receptionist. St. Luke's would be so happy to see them in their healthcare roles. Thank you!!!”
