St. Luke's Orthopedic Care - Bethlehem (Brodhead Road)
My goal when treating patients is to help them reclaim their lives by restoring pain-free movement. The mission of my practice is to provide individualized, specialized, and compassionate care.
I am joining St. Luke’s after completing a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at UT Houston McGovern School of Medicine in Texas and an orthopedic surgery residency at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem.
As an adult reconstruction specialist, I focus on treating arthritic hip and knee conditions. Utilizing the most current surgical tools and techniques, I work with each patient to develop a comprehensive treatment plan to reduce pain, gain strength and range of motion, and improve function.
For those who have previously undergone a hip or knee replacement but are still experiencing mobility issues, revision surgery may be a viable option. I am dedicated to identifying the root of the problem and working with patients on solutions that best fit their lifestyle and mobility goals.
Research is the cornerstone of providing high-quality patient care. To that end, I conduct ongoing studies that focus on enhancing patient safety through data monitoring, reducing the potential for infection by improving surgical sterility, and examining post-operative outcomes.
Providing exceptional care is my passion, and I hope to share that with every patient who comes through my door.
Outside work, I enjoy getting involved in the Bethlehem community with my wife. I am also a hobby woodworker focusing on period-style reproduction furniture.

“I'm very happy with the care rendered from Dr Konoptiski as I have a complex problem and if just by looking at me, you would never guess. He is the 19th , orthopedic doctor to have operated on me and I would not want any one else performing my surgery. Although he may need to do an additional surgery bc of my hip conditions and my Ehlors Danlos Syndrome; I would not have it any other way. Additionally, I trust him so much that I have already referred his name to my daughter's high school friend who is presently suffering from a torn labrum in her right hip from track hurdles last year. Again, I would and will not see any other orthopedist for my hip issues and my arthritic right knee in the near n long term future. It is worth the 1 hr commute. (Name)”
