My Proud Story...

I became a physician because of my fascination with anatomy and histology. As part of the laboratory staff, the pathologists, technicians, phlebotomists and support staff, all function in the "basement," out of sight, but we are not only necessary to the appropriate care of patients, but we identify many abnormalities and issues that clinicians often cannot. We help guide treatment plans, ensure adequate and appropriate tissue sampling for trials and additional testing, provide closure for some families at the end of life with autopsies - all without any knowledge of the patients. The laboratorians at St. Luke's work professionally with every patient's best interest at heart. We quietly fight for our patients with quality and timely diagnoses and results.
