Choosing Wisely®

With healthcare costs continuing to rise, both patients and health care providers are becoming more aware of the cost of care. St. Luke’s Care Network suggests Choosing Wisely® to help identify opportunities to improve both quality and efficiency of care. Choosing Wisely® was launched in 2012 by the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation to promote conversations between clinicians and patients by helping patients choose care that is:

• Supported by evidence
• Doesn't Duplicate other tests or procedures
• Free from harm
• Truly necessary
