Family Medicine Residency - Sacred Heart

St. Luke’s Family Medicine Residency – Sacred Heart

Learn about St. Luke’s Family Medicine Residency – Sacred Heart.

At Sacred Heart Hospital, we have a history of rising to meet the needs of our community.

When the Allentown community was ravaged by a diphtheria epidemic in 1912, Monsignor Peter Masson and twelve intrepid Missionary Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart founded Sacred Heart Hospital in order to serve those most in need.

When the Allentown community needed medical care for tuberculosis, cancer, or the elderly, Sacred Heart Hospital was there to care for those most in need.

When the Allentown community had a shortage of Family Physicians in the 1970’s, Dr. Paul Hermany founded our residency program in 1974, making it the oldest Family Medicine Residency in the Lehigh Valley. When the Allentown community needed a place for primary care, the Sigal Center for Family Medicine was opened in 2001 to provide access to care in the heart of the city.

When the Allentown community needed the resources of a large, diverse, well-connected partner, we joined St. Luke’s University Health System in 2018 to ensure that our mission to our community would continue for many years to come.

We are ardently dedicated to our community, just as our predecessors have been for over 100 years. Are you a compassionate, dedicated, hard-working, enthusiastic, community-minded candidate looking to work in a place where you will make a positive impact on the lives you touch while receiving an outstanding education?

We encourage you to apply to St. Luke’s Family Medicine Residency/Sacred Heart Campus!
