Overview

St. Luke’s University Health Network is committed to providing an equal and quality experience for everyone. We continuously work toward improving the accessibility of our website to ensure individuals with disabilities–including those with visual, hearing, cognitive, and motor impairments–have equal access.

Wherever possible, we adhere to the level AA standards outlined in the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)  Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. These guidelines serve as a framework for enhancing web content accessibility for individuals with various disabilities. We not only prioritize compliance with these guidelines but also recognize that optimizing our web content in alignment with them contributes to a more user-friendly experience for everyone.

Known exceptions

While we strive to meet the success criteria outlined in the WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines, we acknowledge that there are currently sections of our website that may not be accessible or may pose difficulties, especially for screen reader users. Some of these sections are reliant on third-party plugins that do not meet our desired accessibility standards. These sections include:

  • Global navigation – We are in the process of updating our entire website to enhance the user experience for all. Due to our phased development approach, not all pages can be updated simultaneously. Consequently, users transitioning from our old website pages to our new ones may encounter inconsistency in website navigation. We are committed to resolving this as we release new pages weekly.

  • Global legacy pages – As mentioned, our comprehensive website update aims to align with WCAG 2.2. Many of our legacy pages were created before the existence of WCAG 2. We will correct these issues with future updates.

We are actively working on improving the experience in these and other impacted areas, either by working directly with vendors or seeking out more accessible alternatives. Please be aware that our efforts to remediate any issues with these sections are ongoing.
