Curriculum
Structured conferences and educational programs are incorporated into our vascular surgery training program to enhance the fellows’ education, in line with ACGME requirements. Independent reading, research, and conference preparation are all expected as part of fellowship training. Faculty members actively participate to guide discussion in educational conferences and lead various conferences as well, listed below.
The primary fellow-focused Vascular and Endovascular surgery conference follows the SCORE curriculum and is held 3-4 times per month. This multidisciplinary conference includes presentations by the fellows reviewing the core topics in vascular surgery, management and treatment strategies, and review of current literature/journals. The presentations facilitate extensive discussion between fellows and faculty members.
Additional didactics/teaching conferences are listed below:
- Vascular Surgery Morbidity and Mortality Conference
- Combined Department of General Surgery-Vascular Surgery M&M conference
- General surgery resident Vascular Case Conference
- Vascular Case Conference
- Multidisciplinary endovascular PI conference with vascular surgery and interventional radiology
- Basic science conference
- Non-Invasive Vascular Lab Correlation Conference
