Preparing for Practice in Acute Care Setting
The Critical Care and Emergency Medicine Advanced Practitioner (PA/NP) Fellowship program prepares the physician assistant or nurse practitioner for practice in the emergency medicine and acute care setting.
In addition to didactic lectures, the PA/NP fellows have the opportunity to become more proficient in the care of the acutely ill patient. All fellows complete the six core rotations, in addition to rotations of their chosen track.

Call Frequency
Fellow schedules will vary with rotation. If a rotation requires in house call, one to two calls per week is typical.
Additional Specialized Training
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
- Emergency ultrasound
- Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS)
- Participation in monthly procedure lab
