Dr. Olenchock serves as  Chief of Cardiovascular Surgery  for St. Luke's University Health Network and Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery, Temple Medical School. 

Since assuming the position of Chief of Cardiovascular Surgery in 2008, Dr. Olenchock has focused his program on innovation and quality.  The program has been recognized by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons as a 3-star program for quality and has received Thomson Reuters 50 top Cardiovascular hospital in the nation distinction.  His clinical interests include adult cardiac valve therapies, aortic surgery and heart failure.  Dr. Olenchock’s outcomes for valve and other cardiac procedures have remained consistently above national benchmarks.  His program's innovation has led to the performance of Transcatheter Valve Therapies.  Dr. Olenchock leads an aortic clinic to manage the most complex of aortic procedures including endovascular therapy.  He has been involved with clinical research including minimally invasive restraint therapies for heart failure.  In addition, his department has expertise in ECMO and VAD therapies.

His patients appreciate him for his dedication to their well-being and his tireless efforts on their behalf.

Dr. Olenchock is driven by quality, outcomes, and continued improvement in the delivery of cardiac surgical care. Dr. Olenchock has contributed to the scientific literature and presented at international meetings including the Annual Meeting of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
