Educational Excellence with a Commitment to Caring

St. Luke’s University Health Network has an unwavering commitment to excellence as we care for the sick and injured; educate physicians, nurses and other health care providers; and improve access to care in the communities we serve. Educating health care professionals has been a part of St. Luke’s mission for more than a century. The Temple / St. Luke’s school is a central part of our mission to train the next generation physicians who will serve the Lehigh Valley and communities across the country. It is also a key to St. Luke’s vision of increasing access, and ease of access, to health care. With a small class size, Temple / St. Luke’s offers a distinctive educational opportunity, one that is high in quality yet intimate and personalized. Our program, embedded in St. Luke’s caring community, is designed to promote long-term mentoring relationships between our students and our faculty and residents.

Temple / St. Luke’s brings together two institutions, each with a long tradition and outstanding record in medical education and patient care. The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is dedicated to excellence in education, research and patient care, achieved by faculty, staff, and learners who represent the diversity of society. It provides education that is patient-centered, instilling in learners the School’s ethic of human service and lifelong learning; research that advances and integrates basic and clinical science; and patient care administered with compassion and understanding, utilizing contemporary knowledge and techniques.

"Temple / St. Luke's is uniquely suited for individualized learning and close collaboration. As a student here, I felt immediately welcomed into a supportive community with administrators and faculty who want to help and to see you succeed. Because of the small class size, the students here really know each other, work together well, and encourage each other with a spirit of comradery."
